China’s promptness towards Sichuan quake was a surprise for most of the people. Not only to the public, but also governments of other countries. What brings up the promptness? Some might connect this with 2008 Olympic which is to be held in China. As so, positive reputation became the prior consideration in any activities or action taken by China. Meanwhile, it’s about lives here. More than 50,000 victims who sacrificed in this unexpected disaster brought a history for China, where this could be an incident that sacrificed the most victims in history so far. Some people might have bias views towards China, or negative impression about China in certain issues. Somehow, cares, loves and how Chinese unite after the incident have changed the views of most of them who judge wrong of China. Although the disaster was a tragedy, at least China did not put their country into jeopardy. They sent millions of soldiers, thousands of medical team members, thousands of volunteers and separated them into different disaster spots. It was a relief to have them being there to save as much lives as possible. Some of them might have their story behind. They might be saving one’s life at this spot but their family members might trap in rubble in other spots waiting to be rescued. Earthquake isn’t the only disaster, the dam that cracked after the quake and might burst anytime was another issue that China faced.
