Chinese Embassy Kuching Moved
By joyce on Sep 9, 2008 in Daily Ramblings, Kuching's Places, Traveling
I went Chinese Embassy at 3 1/2 mile last week and found they’ve moved ! I’m not even aware of it ! So this morning i drove my way to 2 1/2 mile Ong Tiang Swee Road, heading the Embassy again. It took me 15 minutes from my house to reach there, enter the room, 5 minutes later i’m out of the room ! Very fast huh ! The new place is quite cozy, not in the sense of the interior but the cooling and deem-lighting room. They only operate from 9am to 1130am. They used to operate from 9am to 12pm and now they’ve shorten it to 1130am. Two and half hours !!! It must be nice working in there, not much job, cooling room, short working hours (although it should be their time for printing and scanning job during the afternoon) etc.
Anyway, the procedure is pretty simple (Malaysian)
1) Passport
2) A passport size photo (light background colour)
3) Application form
4) Itinerary of enter and departing China
That’s it !!

Dear Sir,
Does the embassy work during Chinese spring festival? If not, How does it arrange the holiday because I want to get my visa extension.
I am looking forward to your reply.
Thank you very much.

Hi Ava, a very big apology for the late reply. I’ve check with the Chinese Embassy and they said they will be off from 25 January to 31 January 2009. For more information such as how many days to renew a visa or to make a visa extension, you can call 082-238 344. Although the embassy only operates during the day, you still can call during the afternoon and i bet that someone will answer your call during the afternoon and not the day. Morning could be their busiest time to entertain all applicants and there might be no one to bother answering a call
.
Hope this still helps.
Cheers,
Joyce

Hi Joyce, I’m a foreign student studying in Swinburne uni Sarawak, i love travelling and touring,i v traveled and toured the major tourism -attraction site and location around Malaysia, now i intend touring Asia, i was in Singapore 2months back and it was breathe taking, my next destination is Hong Kong but from my finding it seems Hong Kong doesn’t have a consulate here in Malaysia thus, one has to apply for visa through China embassy, what i will like to find out is this, does the Chinese embassy here in Kuching offer Hong Kong tourist visa?

Hi, I am a Malaysian citizen domiciled in Sarawak. I have traveled to China a few times using single entry visa. Every time I applied through China Embassy in Kuching.
Enquiry is can I apply online without going to Kuching or sending my passport to kuching?
I am living in Bintulu and intend to visit China again.
Regards,
Peter
