I’m heading towards two beautiful city in China for a one month vacation, Chengdu and Shanghai on 23rd September, where both my sis stationed. Has been packing my things for the last few days…. throwing all stuffs my sis listed and it took 3/4 of the space! As for mine, i dropped few clothes everyday into my baggage which now I’m confused, what have i thrown inside ! Too lazy to dig inside and have a good look at it, so what i do is pack pack pack and pack. Now comes the problem.. will it be overweight? hmm…

It’s a very big baggage, imagine how much have i packed and there’s still some that is not into it yet.

A so so badminton match left me with disappointment. Lee did not performed as usual, although I’m not a badminton follower, it is noticeable that Lee was not even warm up and into the game yet. I do think Malaysia is giving too much pressure on him. As a first Malaysian badminton singles player to reach an Olympic final, and the first Malaysia’s hope to grab a gold home, Lee was out of his performance. I believed he could have done better. What’s happening to him? Mystery. What’s he thinking during the match? Mystery. Why aren’t he performed like before? Mystery. Lin Dan’s strategies for the match can be clearly seen and that shouldn’t be what Lee was unaware of. So what was going on?! Mystery. Anyways, he had a very nice match with Korean, Lee Hyun-il. At least he made me watch a whole match of badminton today, which i don’t, since birth.

Remember that most weather forecast from different countries predicted that Beijing is going to rain during the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympics? There’s actually some tricky magic done by Chinese scientists. China leads the world with ‘weather modification’, interesting huh ! Weather was modified in the practice of cloud-seeding. Which means, clouds were shot with chemicals, including silver iodide, salts and dry ice. That makes them spawn larger raindrops, sparking a downpour.

“Chinese scientists, however, are convinced they have perfected a method that cuts the size of raindrops, postponing showers until they move on.”

China had done anything and everything to prevent the weather issue. Everything is on set and weather was the only worry. Afterall, this cunning plan is just great. Big applause given~

Beijing 2008 Olympics was overwhelm. Technologies and plots used in the ceremony were all my cup of tea. Stories and messages lie beneath those performances were great. One of my favourites was fireworks in the shape of footprints, “walking” from Yongdingmen to Tian’anmen Square to the Bird’s Nest. That was enchanting! The arrangement for Li Ning to hold the last Olympic Torch to light up the Olympic Flame was greatly done by ‘fly-walking’ on top of the Bird’s Nest with ancient paper rolling as background. Tonight’s Beijing was beautiful, drowning with fireworks.

Heard that United States brought their own chef and food ingredients for their athletes, well, that’s understandable, they should be avoiding any possibilities of unaccustomed to the climate of a new environment, which might affect how athletes perform. Both my sisters in China do get diarrhea and vomiting sometimes, when their digestion system is trying to be naughty and picky, well… some places in China are not really that clean, they have to admit that. So when i heard that the United States is bringing their own chef, i think they are intelligently right!

The whole ceremony reminds me about my participation of performance in National Day of Malaysia, SUKMA Malaysia 1990, Sarawak Cultural Festival, International Music Festival and others when i was young. Beijing Olympics opening ceremony gave me some goose bumps because i was once in their shoes, although the ceremonies were not as grand as Olympics.

Lots of rehearsal has to be done before the final performance… from stage arranging to stage rehearsal to costume rehearsal and more till the final performance. I still remember the smell of bento we had during our rehearsals, and how many classes have i applied for absence in school. My teacher had used to my leave and since then have known what i want once i approach him at the teachers’ room. I am relieved that i had those experiences and it make me impulsive when i watch the ceremony, hoping i was there. The joy of success in performance just can’t be described in words and can’t be imagined, unless you experienced it.

Happy Olympics!!
